ABC Islands - Escape to the Leeward Antilles An All Year Sailing Paradise - From Aruba’s Turquoise Waters to Bonaire’s Protected Reefs

Aruba, Bonaire and Curaçao

A relaxed, laid-back, casual vibe yacht charter destination

~ all you need to get away from it all!

Commonly know as the ABC Islands, Aruba, Bonaire and Curaçao, are a part of the Dutch Antilles and located in the west Leeward Antilles, mid-south of the Caribbean Sea just north of Venezuela.

The location is south-west of the Caribbean’s hurricane belt and therefore a popular all year destination. Summers are somewhat warmer but also less frequented so a good destination to get away from crowds.

Aruba and Curaçao are autonomous, self-governing constituent countries of the Netherlands, while Bonaire is a special municipality of the Netherlands.

Dutch  and Papiamentu are the official languages and English is spoken by the majority of the inhabitants.  Papiamentu is a unique creole language heavily influenced by Portuguese  and other European languages.

The Hidden Gem: Klein Curaçao

For those seeking ultimate seclusion, a day Klein Curaçao on your yacht charter is essential. Located 15 miles off the main coast, this uninhabited “Little Curaçao” is home to an iconic pink lighthouse, historic shipwreck, and some of the most pristine white-sand beaches in the Leeward Antilles. Klein Curaçao is well known as a beautiful diving spot because of its coral and underwater caves. It is a sanctuary for sea turtles and offers a true “desert island” experience accessible only by private vessel.

White Sands and Rugged Coastlines

Aruba, the westernmost jewel of the ABC Islands, stretches nearly 20 miles of sun-drenched landscape. To the north, the island presents a dramatic display of rugged limestone cliffs and a powerful coastline, providing a striking contrast to the serene west and south shores. Here, you will find some of the world’s most celebrated white sand beaches, where calm turquoise waters meet vibrant shore-side atmosphere, luxury shopping, and world-class nightlife.

Exploration and Heritage – Arikok National Park

Venturing inland, Arikok National Park encompasses nearly 20% of the island’s territory. This protected sanctuary reveals Aruba’s desert-like heart and rugged eastern shores, offering a haven for a diverse array of birdlife, bats, and local reptiles. A highlight for any expedition is a visit to the historic Fontein and Guadirikiri Caves, where limestone formations and ancient cave drawings tell the story of the island’s earliest inhabitants. For those arriving by yacht, Aruba offers a unique blend of sophisticated amenities and raw, natural beauty.
