Coastal Gems ~ Maine ⚓️ 💎 🇺🇸
This week we look at heading further north east along the Maine coastline.
From Popham Beach with it’s rare geologic landforms and the Kennebec River exploring the Georgetown peninsula’s coast and Sheepscot River. Make sure you stop to visit the wide sandy beaches of Reid State Park and walk the trails of Josephine Newman Audubon Sanctuary.
Sail pass Squirrel Island up to the vibrant maritime heritage area of Southport and Boothbay harbour. This is a must stop as many activities awaits; boat parades, music festivals, botanical gardens, fireworks, lights festival, golf, Maine State Aquarium, many delicious seafood restaurants and much more.
Round the Yellow Head peninsula up into Muscongus Bay seeking beautiful coastal vistas and finish this section off at the Marshall Point Lighthouse and Museum at the tip of the St. George peninsula.
