The Ultimate Family Getaway A Day in the Caribbean
Let us tell you about a special group of ten – a family and their closest friends, with ages spanning from a youthful twelve to two spirited grandmothers in their seventies. This is a celebration of generations and their private yacht is the perfect floating home for their Caribbean yachting adventure.
The morning sun is already warm on their faces as they gather on the aft deck where their dedicated crew, already attuned to the family’s rhythm, presents a breakfast spread designed to please everyone. The chef has prepared everything from fluffy pancakes for the younger members, freshly baked breads, ham and cheese platters, a local fresh fruit platter, juices and a couple of delicious Eggs Benedicts for the grandmas, as well as some strong Caribbean coffee loved by the adults. The chatter is lively and full of plans for the day ahead, with the captain patiently answering questions about the next island.
With breakfast complete, the yacht sets a course for a beautiful, secluded bay. This short cruise and is a highlight in itself, with the whole family spreading out on the yacht to enjoy the open sea. The younger ones find a cozy spot on the bow, spotting flying fish and dolphins, while the adults relax on the top deck, sharing stories and laughter. It’s a perfect balance of excitement and relaxation, with plenty of room for everyone to enjoy their own space while still being together.
As the crew drops the anchor in a pristine cove, the real fun begins. The crew quickly deploys a variety of water toys and the bay transforms into their own private playground. The younger ones are the first to jump in to try the toys, followed by a few daring adults. Others simply enjoy a leisurely swim or relax on the swim platform, while the grandmothers find a comfortable spot on the shady aft deck, content to watch the fun unfold whilst being served some refreshing iced tea.
Lunch is a casual, delicious affair on the top deck, with the chef having prepared a buffet of fresh salads and a selection of marinated and barbecued vegetables and meats with a variation of spices to suit everyone. The air is filled with the happy sounds of a family spending quality time together.
The afternoon invites further relaxation or exploration. A couple chooses to take the tender to a nearby beach for a quiet walk, while others enjoy a refreshing nap. Later, the captain gives a short tour of the magnificent coastline before anchoring in a harbor just in time for sunset. As the sun dips below the horizon, painting the sky in vibrant colors, everyone gathers on deck for a special cocktail hour.
Dinner is served under a canopy of stars. This time the chef and crew have prepared an Italian-themed dinner: “Amalfi in the Caribbean,” transporting everyone to distant Mediterranean shores through table decorations and Italian culinary delights.
Afterwards, the younger members of the group watch a movie in the salon, while the adults linger on deck, enjoying the tranquility and each other’s company.
